Good morning, Mike.
One of my customers sent me a book back in 2000 - Standing for Something - by Gordon B. Hinckley. After reading your comments, I took it off the shelf and will read it again. It's been too long. After taking a quick look at the Table of Contents, these are the words that jumped out: Love, Honesty, Morality, Civility, Learning, Forgiveness, Mercy, Gratitude, Optimism and Faith.
Thanks for the reminder, Mike.

bob, ever read up on mormonism? they have some very different beliefs. they believe that christ came to america for instance...and that you can be a god yourself after death. there are millions of practicing mormons today and it is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. some aspects of it offer a healthy lifestyle and the one i know are good people...i could never be one though i like coffee and wine too much...john krakaur's book "under the banner of heaven" is a good read btw...

Bob,

I particularly like your point to give oneself permission to stop and listen, because doing nothing isn't always doing nothing.

Take care my Friend,

for a true buddhist..live is suffering...no one escapes it...nothing is permanent. one reason we suffer is due to attachment (to the self "ego", to things etc)...if you can free yourself from this "attachment" you are on your way to peace or enlightenment...btw, even the soul is not permanent...
